Jose Luis began his theater training at the American Conservatory Theater (ACT) of San Francisco, later at the Institute of the Theater of Seville, while also training to be a dancer in the Andalusian Center for Dance (CAD) of the same town. After taking his first steps as a contemporary dancer in this city, he moved to Paris, where he continued his career as a professional dancer in different European companies. He obtained a degree in Contemporary Dance Teaching from the French National Dance Centre (CND) in Paris.
Following this career in the performing arts, he decided to move into the field of health. He joined the European Osteopathic Higher Education Centre (Centre Européen d’Enseignement Supérieur de l’Ostéopathie (CEESO)) in Paris, a member of the Osteopathic Training Network (Réseau des Grandes Ecoles d’Ostéopathie (RGEO)), accredited by the Ministry of Health . This five-year training programme leads to a diploma registered in the National Directory of Professional Certifications, Level I. José Luis obtained his diploma after a dissertation on the “Impact of Visual Impairment on Quality Life”.
During his training, José Luis also did numerous internships in hospitals:
- Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology at Bichat Hospital
- Medical Imaging at the Centre Cardiologique du Nord and at the Clinique de Landy,
- Obstetric Gynecology at Hôpital Bicêtre.
José Luis continues to undertake regular training in new techniques in osteopathy: he has followed seminars on treating pregnant women and babies, emergency care in osteopathy and on the osteopathic mechanical link.
Passionate about pedagogy, José Luis also continues to teach dance and osteopathy. In 2006, he joined the Acajou company and, since then conducts workshops for the visually impaired. Since 2013 he has also taught “Gestural and Body Development” at CEESO Paris, and he supervises student practice in companies or at sports events.
